4 generations of free feet
Your Gran told me recently that her mom always kept her side of the sheets untucked at the bottom, so she could stick her feet out from under the covers while she slept. Your Gran is the same way. I never tuck in the bottom of the sheet either... and now you are the fourth generation on my side to insist on free feet:

Sleeping through the night
The past three nights you have slept through the night!! Tatus and I are so lucky with your sleep schedule. You really like to be awake and in on the action during the day, although you often still have little naps between feedings. At night, you seem to fall asleep between 8 and 11 and sleep until at least 7 a.m. And when you sleep, you really sleep. Yesterday you were sleeping in your little blue chair and tatus and I transfered you to your car seat (which normally you hate to be strapped into). You didn't even wake up when we slipped your arms through the belts and clipped it all together.
We are very impressed with you! :)

Smiles
This past week you have really started to communicate. You rarely scream anymore, or if you do, we are given fair warning! Now you like to coo and murmur and practice making noises like "hoo" and "ung". Tatus and I have fun mimicking you--we make the same noises back to you and have a little conversation. You are great at making eye contact with us now, and talking with us often makes you smile, which makes us smile. You are so beautiful.

My sweater your sweater
Yesterday we had a visit with Gran, Grampa, Uncle Derek and Uncle Shane. Gran brought some goodies for you: a sweater that was mine when I was your age, and the bedding from my crib. I wish we'd brought the camera for this visit because you enjoyed snuggling into your sweater with Grampa.
Later at home, tatus took this picture of you modeling your new sweater. You are growing so fast I don't know how much longer it is going to fit you!

You love to stand
In the past couple of days, we have discovered that you love to stand. We've known ever since you were inside me that you have very strong legs (my ribs will never forget your ribs!), and we are very impressed with you that at only 6 1/2 weeks old you are already holding yourself up like this. And from the expressions on your face, it looks like you are pretty impressed with yourself as well!

Trying to crawl
Everytime we stick you on your tummy, your head comes up, and your legs start moving. You draw your knees up and kick out with your feet, trying to push off. Once your arms catch up with the strength of your legs and neck, you will be motoring!
