Who was she talking to?
Lily just had a conversation on my cell phone. I'm not sure who she was talking to (or thought she was talking to) but her end of the conversation went something like this:
Yes. Boondoon*. Yes. Boondoon. YES. Boondoon… Pop. Yes. Pop. YES. Yes. Lily. YES! Boondoon… uh… orange.

Bess-ooo
Yesterday Lukasz coughed and Lily ran up to him with a concerned "oooh" and then she said "bess-ooo!" which has to be her version of "bless you".
This morning I was at the computer and I sneezed a couple of times. Almost before I'd finished, Lily piped up with another "bess-ooo!"
Now we REALLY have to watch what we say around her, especially when we stub our toes! :)

Letters, numbers, words oh my!
Right now Lily is bringing magnetic numbers to me and asking me what they are. She's learning five and three. She's already able to point out and say eight, and whenever we go out or are reading a book and come across an O, she points it out and tells us what it is.
And her vocabulary is increasing so quickly I can't even keep up with all her new words. She loves to ask what things are and when I tell her she repeats it. Some of the new words she says now are: on, off, music, dance, phone, nap, bib, thumb, hand, toe, foot, knee, chin, hair, head, (she's known eye, ear & nose for a while) diaper, pants, socks, shirt, juice, water, fork, spoon, cup, excuse me, bath, colour, sticker, youghurt, Babcia, Dziadek, Gran, (Uncle) Shane, Madeline, Pepito, bird, tree, bush, run, jump, and, almost & "all done".
When she asks to dance, it's a very specific request--she wants to be lifted up and goes into a waltz-like position, holding onto our free hand's thumb an swinging our arms up and down as we dance.
Lily has also started stringing words together, like "hi baby" and "almost all done" (when we are changing her diaper, which recently she HATES).
"And" comes in handy for her when she wants to know what something is and there is more than one of them. She points to one thing, we name it, she says "and" and points to another. I think she picked up that word from Hop on Pop. I'm so glad she got interested in books at such a young age.

Drawing Apples
Nowadays, all circles are "AA-poos". You often will hand me a crayon and say "AA-poo" over and over again until I draw you an apple. Today, you did something different. You drew your own apples! Here you are saying "cheese!" for the camera, and your apples are in the background:
I drew the green one and you drew the pink ones, punctuating every swirl with "AA-poo!".

Off to Toronto, then to Poland
So... off to Toronto 3 a.m. Saturday. Going to be crazy busy tomorrow, but today I managed to take an adorable video of LB talking. She says Hi, Bye, Lily (watch how she gets tripped up on the L sound and ends up going "lingalingalinglingling"), Boom, Puppy, and blows me a kiss. Enjoy.

Lily says "ta ta"
Tonight as I was snuggling with you on our bed, your Tatus walked by the doorway, and you distinctly said, "ta ta ta". You had been silent before he walked by. A few minutes later he walked into the room to join us, and again, you looked at him and said, "ta ta ta ta".

da da, ta ta
You like to say da da ta ta a lot now. Sometimes you will just whisper ta ta ta ta and it's the cutest thing to hear. To us, it all means Tatus/daddy because ta ta is daddy in Polish, and da da is daddy in English.
We are trying to respond directly to when you say ma ma or da da ta ta now. I'll point to myself and say ma ma and your Tatus does the same with da da ta ta.
So you can now say ma ma, ba ba, da da, ta ta, niy niy, vva!, and a variety of octaves and volumes of shrieks, giggles and yells.
Like walking, it feels like talking is just around the corner for you!
