She crawls!
You just took your first "steps" crawling! Before, you hadn't wanted to lift your hands while on your hands and kness. But these past couple of days, we have seen you experimentally balancing on just one hand, mostly in a leaning sitting position. I guess today you decided you were strong enough--we were playing on our bed and you looked towards the edge of it, got up on your hands and knees, lifted and moved your right hand forward, then your knees, then your left hand. You went about a foot, but it was definitely crawling!!

Now that's a sleeping baby!
You never sleep with your mouth open--but tonight you were sleeping so deeply, nothing could disturb you.

Gran bought me the coolest hat!!
You've never been one for hats. In the winter months when you were really little, and before we discovered hooded jackets, hats were cause for yelling, fist-clenching anger. But you liked wearing this hat. It came with a matching bathing suit. I can't wait to see you in the wading pool with this ensemble this summer!!

Rabbit ears!
A walk to the park
The three of us went for a nice long walk through 2 parks today. We are so lucky to have such nice parks so close to where we live. The first park is Blue Mountain Park--here you are waving hello: Tatus checks out a tree that got blown down in a windstorm:
On our way to the second park, Como Lake Park. You fell asleep about 10 seconds after I took this photo:
Como Lake Park. Lots of birds stay here through the winter, mainly ducks and geese:
This duck came to check Tatus out...
There was something really yummy in the water here. See the duck trying to dive? I took a video of him. He's too buoyant to go underwater, but he sure tried hard!

Climbing Tatus
You haven't yet mastered crawling, but already you like to hold onto whatever is nearby and push yourself up into a standing position. Here, you use Tatus:

Helloooo!
Fun with hedgehog
Dziadek gave you a hedgehog a few weeks ago, and you like to squeeze and hug it. :)
And you even liked it when Tatus put it on your head!
Falling asleep
Getting you to fall asleep at night has always been a bit of a struggle. You fall asleep easily enough if we rock you or take you for a walk or if I let you nurse till you doze off. But I know those are all bad habits, because you need to be able to fall asleep on your own otherwise life is going to get very difficult for all of us. Tonight you nursed and then seemed fairly calm, so I burped you and then quietly put you in your crib, gave you a soother, covered you in blankets, turned down the light, , and closed the door. You didn't cry, but you did continually roll over onto your tummy and ocassionally I'd hear you give little frustrated grunts, so I went in, rolled you back onto your back, covered you, gave you the soother and left. I had to do that about 5 times, but it worked. You fell asleep all by yourself. Mind you, you are lying almost sideways in bed, but hey, that works.
I'm proud of you, boogie! And thanks for going to bed "early". Yes, 12:30 a.m. is early for you. :)
