Big sister's first kiss
Every once in a while, I show Lily my bare tummy and tell her there's a baby in there. She rubs my belly and says cacy usually, but today she just did something different. I was kneeling in front of her, and she leaned forward and kissed my tummy!!
What a kid. :)

Cleaning up after herself
Tonight at dinner Lily and I spilled some soup on her high chair tray. When she saw the drops, she decided she was done eating so I let her down. She ran to the tea towel hanging on the fridge, pulled it down and ran back to her high chair. I lowered the tray, and she wiped at the soup till it was gone, then went back to the fridge to put the towel back. I showed her the laundry basket and asked her to put the towel there because it was dirty now, and she put it in there.
She's smack in the middle of her neat-phase and I'm loving it. She's just so serious about cleaning up little messes, especially when it's from food she's been eating.
Every day is something new. It seems I can't type fast enough to keep up with all the things she is learning, doing and figuring out each day. Kids are incredible.

Sharing mac 'n' cheese with Tatus
Continually amazing me
This afternoon you went through all your books, looking at them yourself or having me read them to you. When you were finished, you picked up each book one by one and put them back on their shelf:
I've read that this streak of tidiness and cleanliness is just a phase. Darn!

You look adorable in pigtails. But you really can't stand me putting elastics in your hair.

You are going to have a BROTHER!!
You came to the hospital with me and Tatus to see the ultrasound of your little sibling--and we found out that it's a BOY!! You are going to have a little brother! :)

Here's a picture of his tiny foot:
And here's a side view of his head and two little fists in the air:

Reading
I love how much you love to look at books and be read to. Here, we are waiting for Tatus to come home and you are thoroughly enjoying the books that Ciocia Monika lent us. :)

First ponytail
You are a little over 15 months old now, and up until now I haven't tried to put any clips or bows or anything in your hair--it hasn't really been long enough. Today I wrestled your hair into a palm tree on top of your head, just to see what it would look like.
This is the classic this? pose. This? is what you say as you point to anything and everything you want.

A classic dirty look. I think you get this from me. :)
Fake smile, fake patience. Yep, the 'do is coming out soon.
Oops. Hang on a sec, my calculator is ringing.

Helping with the laundry
You've really started to want to help me with everything I do. The laundry is especially fun because you get to pull the clothes out of the basket and (ideally) put them on the bed. Often they land on the floor first, but oh well. You are happily helping, and that's what matters.

Colouring
We introduced crayons and paper to you a few months ago, and every day or two you and I will sit and colour. I'm totally impressed with how quickly you figured out how to colour.
First, just light little lines because you were holding the crayons by the end, not in your fists:

Then you figured out how to get a good grip on the crayon and make some bolder lines. You really enjoy colouring over stickers or anything that I draw. It's like you are wanting to colour things in, not just make lines on the paper. Smart girl. :)
